Event Description

Join us at Cragg House Farm for a guided behind-the-scenes tour of our traditional Lake District hill farm in the beautiful Buttermere Valley.

During the tour, visitors will meet our friendly Fell ponies, Oxford Sandy & Black pigs, Bagot goats, Royal Golden Guernsey goats, native breed hens, ducks and turkeys, before heading out to see our hefted Herdwick ewes and lambs grazing the surrounding fell landscape.

This relaxed farm walk will cover no more than 2km and offers plenty of opportunities to stop, ask questions and learn more about life on a working upland farm within the Lake District National Park.

Guests will have the opportunity to:

* Feed and cuddle the goats
* Feed the hens
* Learn about traditional hill farming and native breeds
* Discover how our working farm cares for both livestock and landscape

The experience will finish with a live sheepdog demonstration, showcasing the skill and partnership between shepherd and dog in gathering sheep on the fells.

Perfect for families, animal lovers and anyone wanting an authentic insight into life on a real working Lake District farm.
