Event Description

We are delighted to be opening our gates to the general public for the very first time this Open Farm Sunday, after beginning our journey in September 2024. This is a special milestone for us and we’re incredibly excited to welcome our local community to experience everything Coombe House Farm has to offer.

Coombe House Farm is a developing therapeutic care farm supporting young people with SEND and this event is a wonderful opportunity to showcase the journey we’ve been on so far. Visitors will be able to explore the farm, see our animals in their environment and learn more about how our setting supports wellbeing, learning and confidence-building.

There will be plenty of fun for all ages throughout the day, including:

Sheep shearing demonstrations (weather permitting)
Line dancing
A discovery trail around the farm
Arts and crafts activities

We’ll also be hosting a variety of fantastic local stalls, offering everything from freshly brewed coffee and delicious local ice cream to jewellery, artisan goods and homemade crafts, perfect for a relaxed browse and supporting local businesses.

Please note that, for everyone’s safety and wellbeing, visitors will not be handling the animals during the event, but there will still be plenty of opportunities to see them up close and learn about life on the farm.

While entry is free, we kindly ask for donations to support our chosen charity, the British Bee Charity, helping to protect and promote vital pollinator populations.

About This Farm

Coombe House Farm is a developing therapeutic care farm dedicated to supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), aged 5–19. As we grow, we also aim to extend our services to benefit the wider community.
At the heart of our approach is the use of meaningful, hands-on farming experiences to promote physical, emotional, and mental wellbeing. Through daily interaction with animals, including chickens, ducks, sheep and guinea pigs.
