Event Description

The team at VistaVeg Ltd, which runs the Home Grown Here veg box scheme, are opening up their polytunnel doors and field gates for Open Farm Sunday on 7th June. This free event is a fantastic way for all the family to learn about sustainable veg-growing and what we do. There’ll be plenty to see and fun activities for children and adults alike – scavenger hunts, making bird-scarers, guess the weight of the veg bag, seed sowing.

Join us at our five polytunnels and packing shed at Bell Foot, Crosby Ravensworth, CA10 3JB to see how we manage our seed sowing, propagation and growing under cover, find out how this small grower's co-operative works and what it takes to run a veg box scheme in a rural setting. What3Words for the polytunnels & packing shed site is : pasta.postings.opened
Limited parking available on site (or park at Crosby Ravensworth Primary School & walk half a mile uphill – great views!).

Then why not head over to our market garden in Maulds Meaburn, CA10 3HN to see everything in action. Hear about the advantages of our no-dig bed system and how we're growing regeneratively ... and maybe even pick a strawberry or two if we’ve had some early summer sun! What3Words for the market garden site is : shirtless.boot.ducks
On-street parking only available in Maulds Meaburn close to the village hall; it’s a short (uphill) walk from there to the field.
