Event Description
Come and learn how the National Trust is working to balance farming and nature.
Common Farm is an ex-intensive dairy farm just outside of Windermere that has been managed in hand by the National Trust since 2020. With the aim of supporting people and nature through habitat restoration and responsible grazing management, a number of exciting projects are underway, such as wood pasture and wetland creation, local provenance orchard planting and public access improvements.
You can expect a guided farm tour, with a nature-based activity for children, followed by hot drinks and a chance to chat more to those involved in the farm.
About This Farm
Common Farm is being managed for nature and people with a small herd of Albion cattle.
