Annabel is the most enthusiastic supporter of LEAF Open Farm Sunday and is passionate about the positive impact of connecting society with farmers. Brought up in Southampton, Annabel escaped to the countryside and has over twenty years’ experience working in a range of agricultural marketing and communications roles. The skills, professionalism, science and technology across the sector, provides the inspiration and drive to support farmers to showcase British farming and to help the public understand and value all that the industry delivers. Its her firm belief that every farmer has a fascinating story to share and its her mission to support them to achieve this!

Tabitha is the LOFS coordinator at LEAF Head Office. With a passion for offering opportunities for all ages and walks of life to understand and appreciate the agricultural industry, Tabitha believes there are opportunities available and benefits that can be reaped from a basic understanding of food production and the natural environment, and this is something that ought to be made available to everyone, should they wish to experience it. Tabitha has found herself well placed to do just that working with LEAF Open Farm Sunday and LEAF Education.

Andy Guy ran his own LEAF Demonstration Farm between 2004 and 2010 and hosted hundreds of visits during those years, participating in Open Farm Sunday as a host until 2010 when he ceased farming. Andy now runs an independent sustainable food & farming consultancy business and has been heavily involved in LEAF Open Farm Sunday since 2010, and would be happy to answer any questions you may have!

Rebecca has been involved in LEAF Open Farm Sunday since it began in 2006, helping at events on her family farm in Kinross. Now based in Dumfries, Rebecca has a wealth of knowledge and passion for LEAF Open Farm Sunday. Rebecca’s day job is working for PR company Jane Craigie Marketing, who are also invested in LEAF Open Farm Sunday!

Rona Amiss, along with her family run a tenanted farm on the most Southerly point of mainland UK. “Being first generation farmers, we have had 3 tenanted farms and worked in various sectors including poultry, dairy, beef, sheep and arable. We ran our first Open Farm Sunday event in 2007 and have continued most years. Starting with small farm walks we now have a fantastic village event that attracts over 1200 people.”

Helen is a 7th generation farmer! Her brother and father farm at Ridgeway Farm, a traditional mixed dairy and arable farm located just outside Blackpool, Lancashire. Helen and her mother hold a number of open farm events throughout the year, the events attract a wide range of visitors, some of whom have been over 30 years old and never been to a farm! This opened the family’s eyes, especially her father’s, as before then he didn’t believe people would want to come to, or learn about farms and farming life. Helen is passionate about educating the public and offering the opportunity to visit a real life working farm, and is more than happy to support anyone in their LEAF Open Farm Sunday journey!

Lucy and her husband, a sixth-generation farmer live on a 100ha arable farm in Worcestershire with their two children. Lucy has a degree in Drama, a Postgraduate qualification in sports sociology and has worked as fundraising manager for RNLI and BHF. Lucy and her husband aspire to transition their farm to a regenerative system and opened their farm for LEAF Open Farm Sunday for the first time in 2021.
