COMPETITION: Design the ultimate cape for the Guardians of the Earth!
We're calling all aspiring artists, young and old, to unleash your creativity and craft a cape that embodies the spirit of our fabulous ‘Guardians of the Earth’ - our hardworking farmers!
Get ready to flex your creative muscles because Open Farm Sunday is launching a competition that is sure to ignite your imagination!
We’re calling all aspiring artists, young and old, to craft a cape which embodies the spirit of our fabulous ‘Guardians of the Earth’ — our hardworking farmers! Enter your designs before 5pm on 18th June 2024, and you could be in with a chance of winning a coveted John Deere toy tractor.
Our wonderful farmers produce our food, fibre and fuel, whilst managing the countryside for wildlife to thrive and this competition gives you the chance to showcase your knowledge and insights into the world of farming.
There are lots of ways to get some inspiration:
- Farming Fortnight, 3rd-14th June - run by LEAF Education, will see hundreds of schools take part in a two week spotlight on farming and food production; delving into the world of farming through engaging activities and worksheets on a different topic each day! Find out more here.
- Open Farm Sunday, 9th June - visit a farm with family and friends to discover the world of farming. Visitors will experience and learn from our farmers about how food is produced sustainably, and how they look after the environment and wildlife. From the significance of hedgerows and wildflowers to the role of bat boxes and bug hotels, there's a whole world of agricultural wonders waiting to be explored!
Download the competition form and unleash your inner artist! Use whatever art materials you wish to design the cape on the competition entry form and send it to: OFS Cape Competition, LEAF, Unit 175, Avenue J, Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire CV8 2LG. To be in with a chance of winning the prize, entries must arrive before 5pm on Tuesday 18th June 2024. Remember to include with your entry your name, date of birth (if under 18 years old), contact details (give details of your parent/guardian if under 18 years). Entries will be judged by the Open Farm Sunday team at LEAF. No alternative prize will be given.
