LOFS launches Impact 2021
Our latest LEAF Open Farm Sunday impacts report celebrates the highlights and successes of LOFS 2021 which returned to real life, face to face events, plus our virtual farm tours and Spring and Autumn LEAF Online Farm Sundays. We would like to thank every one of our farmers for their involvement, support and enthusiasm for keeping LEAF Open Farm Sunday on the road this year making it another one to remember.
Whilst events were fewer and smaller than the norm, we’re thrilled that visitors had the unique opportunity to experience up close and personal farm visits, and also allowing them to meet a farmer – and events had a huge positive effect:
- 95% of visitors saying they now appreciate more the work farmers do, and
- 89% of visitors mentioning they have a better understanding of what ‘sustainably produced food’ actually means.
These results and some fantastic quotes from host farmers and visitors, really bring home the difference LOFS is making to connecting people with farming. These take home messages are what we strive to achieve, and its wonderful to hear such great feedback.
‘LEAF Online Farm Sunday’ events saw over a quarter of a million people view our live virtual farm tours during the year, again offering some brilliant messaging surrounding sustainability, the environment and climate change.
