The farm, which is part of the University of Reading, is a mixed enterprise where arable crops are grown, and dairy calves are raised in a high welfare system. The day promises to be an exciting experience for families with tractor rides, interactive activities, and farm walks. The event will run during the afternoon with guests asked to arrive at set times to join a guided party that will set off to explore the farmland. Admission will be free but booking is essential at www.reading.ac.uk/events
About This Farm
Sonning farm is a mixed farming enterprise belonging to the University of Reading. The commercial system comprises a dairy calf-rearing unit and an arable cropping enterprise. The site also contains an agricultural research facility where cutting-edge new technologies are developed.
