Hot off the press

The campaign for Open Farm Sunday 2017 is off to fabulous start with the farming press getting right behind our push to encourage more farmers to open for Open Farm Sunday on 11th June 2017.

The farming press have been fully behind the plans for LEAF Open Farm Sunday 2017, with some lovely features and articles. Here we run through a selection of online articles that have recently been published.

2017 got off to a great start with Hort News and Farmers Weekly publishing articles promoting the new OFS Bitesize webinars as a useful watch for farmers thinking of opening, providing a schedule of all the planned webinars coming up.

Talking about the OFS Bitesize webinars Annabel Shackleton, LEAF’s Open Farm Sunday manager said: There is so much inspiration and experience amongst our co-ordinators and experienced host farmers, so these webinars offer a great platform to share this expertise and provide an easy and interactive way for farmers to engage with the OFS team directly and get a head start on their planning to ensure maximum success for Open Farm Sunday 2017.”

We’d like to invite everyone, whether they have opened before or are thinking about opening for the first time on June 11, 2017, to join us for our OFS Bitesize webinars.”

On 28th January 2017 Farmers Guardian provided some useful information for farmers, asking Do you want to be an Open Farm Sunday host?’

Caroline Drummond MBE, Chief Executive of LEAF (Linking Environment And Farming), has written an open letter encouraging involvement in this year’s Open Farm Sunday. This was published on 21st February on the Farming UK website.

Details of how Scottish farmers can gear up for Open Farm Sunday 2017 in Scotland were published in The Scottish Farmer on 22nd February 2017. Click here to read the full article.

With more coverage expected in the coming weeks keep your eyes peeled for more Open Farm Sunday mentions as we look ahead to another exciting, informative Open Farm Sunday.
